Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with good resistance to corrosion from many organic and inorganic compounds, and a useful temperature range from cryogenic up to 1095 oC (2000 oF). It is used in chemical and food processing, in electronics, for aerospace engine components, for furnace components, and in nuclear reactors.
Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with additions of niobium and molybdenum along with lesser amounts of titanium and aluminum. It combines corrosion resistance and high strength with outstanding weldability, including resistance to postweld cracking. The alloy has excellent creep-rupture strength at temperatures up to 700 oC (1300 oF). Used in gas turbines, rocket motors, spacecraft, pumps, and tooling.
