4 FIRST AID MEASURES
General Measures: Remove patient from area of exposure.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air, keep warm and quiet, give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Seek medical attention.
INGESTION: Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention. Never induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing, brush material off skin, wash affected area with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
EYES: Flush eyes with lukewarm water, including under upper and lower eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Most Important Symptoms/Effects, Acute and Delayed: Inhalation of aluminum dust or powder may cause irritation to the respiratory system. See section 11 for more information.

5 FIREFIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media: Use gentle surface application of Class D or dry, inert granular material such as sand to cover and ring the burning material.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media: Do not use water, halogenated or ABC dry chemical agents.
Specific Hazards Arising from the Material: Fine dust dispersed in air in sufficient concentrations, and in the presence of an ignition source, is a potential dust explosion hazard. Powder or dusts in contact with water may release flammable hydrogen gas. If powder or dusts come into contact with certain metal oxides (such as iron oxide or copper oxide) a thermite reaction can be initiated by a weak ignition source. May release aluminum oxide fume if involved in a fire.
Special Protective Equipment and Precautions for Firefighters: Wear full face, self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.
6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment, and Emergency Procedures: Wear appropriate respiratory and protective equipment specified in section 8. Isolate spill area and provide ventilation. Avoid breathing dust or fume. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Methods and Materials for Containment and Cleaning Up: Avoid dusting of powder to the greatest extent possible. Use only non-sparking tools and natural bristle brushes. Place carefully in dry water-tight sealed containers. Do not use water for spill clean-up. After complete clean-up by sweeping, area may be washed with large amounts of water if necessary.
Environmental Precautions: Do not allow to enter drains or to be released to the environment.

Precautions for Safe Handling: Handle under dry protective gas if possible. Air and moisture sensitive. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Protect from sources of ignition. Conditions for Safe Storage: Store in a cool, dry area. Store material tightly sealed in properly labeled containers, preferably under argon. Protect from water/moisture.
